Located at the top of Las Huacas, Nosara, this old house with panoramic ocean views needed a renovation. the old Nosara beach style house featuring arches around the terrace and a unique layout but closed to the open spaces available.

Being the house so closed and dark, the main idea involves introducing natural light to illuminate previously dim areas, transforming the residence into a bright and welcoming sanctuary open to the ocean views and the sunset.

The redesign focused on reconfiguring the space to include a mudroom, a comfortable living area, and a modern kitchen. In order to maximize openness and connection with the surroundings the main idea encourages most of the spaces to change the existing layout and knock some walls down to meet the hidden views of the ocean. By recycling the main structure and walls of the original house and using materials present on site as the wood ceiling the idea was to reduce the ecological footprint of the construction.
